Fenian footballer insults Britain’s war dead – again

Wrexham footballer James McClean – already notorious for his pro-IRA views – again insulted Britain’s war dead yesterday by ostentatiously standing apart from his teammates during a minute’s silence for Remembrance Day weekend.

In 2020 McClean was fined two weeks wages by his then club Stoke City, after he posted a pro-IRA image to Instagram showing him giving a “history” lesson to his children while wearing a paramilitary-style balaclava.

Typically, he then had the impertinence to complain about the effect abuse from patriots on social media was having on his family!

It comes as no surprise that McClean’s present employers – the co-owners of Wrexham FC – are Hollywood film stars, one of whom made his debut in a pro-IRA movie.

The ‘values’ of Hollywood have always been anti-British and frequently aligned with terrorist groups, whether the Jewish Irgun and Stern Gang in the 1940s, or Sinn Fein / IRA in recent decades.

Unlike McClean, decent footballers and fans throughout the UK will today be marking Remembrance Sunday alongside their fellow citizens.

And many of us will be remembering in particular those who died during decades of brave efforts to eradicate James McClean’s terrorist comrades.
