John Gamble, councillor for Brinsworth & Catcliffe ward on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, has resigned from the BNP and joined the England First Party, becoming the EFP’s first Yorkshire councillor.
Councillor Gamble defeated the Mayor of Rotherham, Labour’s Allan Jackson, in last May’s elections.
In recent months he had become increasingly disillusioned with the BNP’s national and local leadership, and has now decided to join a party that offers a serious, radical challenge to the corrupt political establishment.
EFP chairman Mark Cotterill, currently contesting the Lancashire County Council elections, said that Councillor Gamble’s decision was a welcome boost for the England First Party’s campaign.
